Members notice board

As we gear up for another trip abroad, we start to look forward to next years

Adventure. Anyone wishing to put their name on the list please email me at

tellbut@yahoo.co.uk not sure where the venue is, but rest assured it will be

a great event.

Due to the poor weather, the Spring cup Qualifier has been

rescheduled to be played on the 20th of April in place of the

Ricky tout pairs.

Finally Bromley Golf club has made the news papers, and have become the talk of the county.

Thanks to Andy Heafield an article about this years recent runaway success in the

Mail on Sunday classic has made the Telegraph head lines, oops sorry scrub that

the Newshopper news paper. It is the first time that I know of that we are worthy

of print, so well done Andy for pursuing the story, and well done the team for making it possible.

At this years AGM, you the members have now elected 3 new officers onto the committee

1) Keith Ellison who now takes over as Captain for 2008/09

2) Terry Hamilton was elected as the new Treasurer

3) So as to continue with the clubs recent run of form in external competitions,

we felt it appropriate to introduce a Competitions Captain,

Anthony Colliver was duly elected to fill the post.

We have also introduced and elected Dan Garland to the position of

Junior Vice captain.

(The post of Junior Captain and Vice captain  are not committee posts)

The Bromley Golf club played an away competition at Highgate Golf Club and won after extra holes.

The team consisted of Peter Carroll, Anthony Colliver, James Heafeild

Andy Heafield, and Michael Schmidt.

It was 2 ½ games each with Michael halving the 18th taking the match to extra holes. Anthony went on to win on the 2nd extra hole.

A hearty welldone to the team.

The team followed on this success with another VICTORY, this time away at Arkley in Hertfordshire.

The same collection of reprobates went away and came away with the spoils, winning as they did 3 & 2.

The upshot of this win pitches the team up with a home round against Bexleyheath.

This will take place on Sunday the 13th of April. The 5 matches will tee off before the club in pairs,

so we would appreciate it if members waiting to tee off are patient as they will be following the groups around.

Whilst providing plenty of moral support, please keep the noise and movement around the first tee

to a minimum.

Away day

The Gatton Manor away day was well attended with 26 members and guests turning up on the day.

Despite the poor weather leading up to the big day, the day itself was apart from

a small patch of drizzle rain free.

It was highly unfortunate that the course itself was rather boggy in places,

but despite this we had some really good scores, more noticeably

Dan Garland 41 points

James Heafield 39 points

and both have now been cut.

For those not there you missed a really great day. Thanks to John Harling for arranging the day

and not forgetting Ian Smith for arranging the trophies. Well done and thanks.
