Sheriffs Vrs BanditsWell it was that time of year again when the Sheriff tallies up all his spot fines to the club members resulting in the below teams: Sheriffs ---- goodie goodies with very few fines. Bandits ---- those fallen foul of the sheriff’s unwritten laws (OK made up) Big thanks to the young ladies Nicole and Lisa for providing the Boggy-top, Mexican dish and good old beans. Well the day started very foggy and we were lucky to it cleared quickly and the sun came out in the end. As can be seen by the results the Sheriff was never in a comfortable position with it being all even in his 4 ball and then to see 3 Bandits wins come in and only one Sheriff win. It was looking bad, then came a Sheriff win and a halve and the Sheriff's eye light up with hope only to be dashed with 2 more Bandit wins to make it a convincing defeat for the sheriffs team. Well done to the Bandits leader John H.

The Magpie Cup was this weeks comp. 9 hole Strokeplay qualifier with the top four players going through to the final. The names of the top four were placed into a hat and then drawn out for the pairings. John Wilfort/Jim Bray Vs Russ Newman/Victor Outar The format for the final will be 18 holes better ball pairs match play and will take place on the 6th Dec. A big thanks to Mark Nelson for the below report. Wisher Cup Final - Sunday 20th September We had an early start at 7-15 the course was in lovely condition and we had no one in front of us. I had to give Thomas 4 shots, which I thought was going to be a tall order as he had been playing very well. The first hole went to me as Thomas made a couple of mistakes and I made par. On the second Thomas drove into the right rough, and not a good lie, I drove up the middle and my second shot landed on the green 10 foot from the pin. Thomas from the rough hit a wonder shot onto the green from a bad lie. I sank my putt for a birdie and Thomas three putted, two up to me. Hole 3, went to Thomas with a nice par. The 4th went to me with a par as Thomas had a few problems. The 5th, we both hit the green with good shots and both of us got pars, but with Thomas having a shot he got one back. The 6th par 5, was also halved. The 7th was halved as Thomas had a shot. The 8th was the crucial hole and I hit a great drive over the ditch, this was one hole two far for Thomas as he got in a lot of trouble off the tee. This is where I wrapped up the win 2 & 1. We both enjoyed the game tremendously and was finished by 9-15.
