St. George's Bowl 23rd April 2016

A good turn out today for the St. George's Bowl which turned out to be a tough day out on the course due to the wind and chill factor with most pairs finding it hard to get a good round going.
With Russ offering to pop along to do the starting of the groups for us before shooting off up town to have a nice day out at the theatre to watch the Railway Children with the misses. Thank you mate much appreciated and hope you enjoyed the show.
With pairs in each group struggling with their scores there was one pair that was doing well, with Bill and our President whom had 7 pars and 2 triple bogeys on their card by the 12th.
But I think most people were glad to get back to the club house today and a bit of warmth that was waiting to greet them along with the beer fridge and a lovely buffet of which the good ladies of our Secretary and Vice-Captain, Nicole and Lisa, had kindly donated to us for the day leaving the cash to be put into the Captains Charity.
Thank you very much.
And I think when it came to the winners nobody expected they had done well enough to win the day and it all came done to a count back at the end as Jim & Daniel Bray took the win just pippin Bill and Dave. H at the post with both pairs finishing on 33 points and with Mr. A and Mr. Reid taking 3rd place the day was complete.
Thank you to Macie and Mikki for doing the scoring of the cards for us today. But had to resort to the old fashioned way of doing it after Macie's computer said NO.....
Cheers guys Bloody technology.
I hope Colin feels a little better after having to retire from the day after 9 holes as he had hurt his back yesterday (Friday) at work but turned up and tried to play through it but just couldn't continue. Hope it gets better quick mate.
Nice to see Mick back today to partner Mr. Langford and Andy D and Nigel popping along for the day but unfortunately both were casualties of the cold I think as they struggled with the rest of us.

Thanks to everybody who took part today and turned up to play and well done to the winners and runners up, congratulations
